How to integrate LectServe using MCP

Look up Anglican/ACNA and Revised Common Lectionary Bible readings by date. This guide creates an MCP server from Arthur's LectServe template — tools preconfigured against https://www.lectserve.com — and finishes by sharing the server's MCP swagger documentation.

Steps

  1. Go to the REST API Templates gallery and search for LectServe.

  2. Click Use template on the LectServe card to open the server-creation dialog.

  3. Review the server name — the dialog lists every tool that will be created.

  4. Click Create server. Arthur creates the server, applies the authentication, and generates all the tools.

  5. Open the server's Tools tab to review the generated tools.

  6. Open the server's Connect section and click Share the MCP swagger documentation — Arthur generates the public documentation link and QR code for this server.

Confirm it worked

The server appears with 3 preconfigured tool(s): get_today_lectionary, get_upcoming_sunday_lectionary, get_lectionary_by_date. The Connect section offers the MCP swagger documentation — a shareable page with setup instructions for any AI client.

Good to know

  • Retrieve daily and Sunday lectionary Bible readings for the ACNA or Revised Common Lectionary traditions, for today, the upcoming Sunday, or any specific date. No account or API key is required.
  • No authentication required — the server is ready to use immediately.
  • Official API documentation: https://www.lectserve.com/html/about
  • Editing a tool later never changes the template — templates are starting points, and the server is fully yours after creation.
